The year(s) that was!

2010 was an incredible year! So many things happened. Some with happy endings and others with broken heart. Thinking about that, I realized that I have been doing certain things every year that becomes life changing or life threatening at times. So what have I been doing all these years?

2007: Became a Council Executive Member in the college! (Woop! I didn't even see that one coming!)
2008: Joined Sify as an ID. (Didn't know what it was when I joined)
2009: Quit Sify and joined the Univ.
2010: Went to North India, fell in love, broke up with friends, sis marriage, and a year full of surprises!

And I even know what 2011 is going to be. Yep! Back to IDing. Something must be wrong with me to make that decision. But what the hell. I might start doing PhD in 2012! Me full of weirdness!

Men I Met (Through proper channel)!

Wow.. It’s less than a week and here I am writing another blog post. Maybe it is the strong sensation of desire to stick to at least one of my New Year resolutions! This post is also part of my ‘write drunk and edit sober’ series! 2016 has just began and already people I know (and don’t know) have started to hope and wish that I’ll be married by this year end. Well, I can’t blame them though! People who know me well are aware that the process of finding a groom started in 2011, i.e. a year after my sister got married. So they are obviously thinking ‘Why is she still single?’ People whom I don’t know well are thinking ‘She is 28! Oh gosh! Why isn’t she married yet? Doesn’t she know that her biological clock is ticking?’ The worst part about both the sides is that they start to give me advice on how to speed up the process. Boy Meeting the Girl - BMG!

‘You got to be kidding me’ I was telling to myself for the nth time. Sitting in front of me was Keshav (Keshavan Kottakal), a Nair groom from a proper Tharavad in Pallakad. He is working in an IT company in Chennai for the last three years, with a salary that has allowed him to buy an i-20 and a house in one of the posh locations in the outskirts of the city. He is the younger among two brothers. His father is no more and his mother is settled with his elder brother in USA taking care of her five month old grandchild. Basically his application for the post of ‘son-in-law’ was not just suffice but more than perfect for my dad. Keshav was the sixth or seventh ‘probable groom’ I am meeting in the last three months.
