I wish I was a MAN/DAD!

I have always wanted to be a boy/man. I mean, it's a thought or desire that I have always had since my teen to be born in a different gender because of all the benefits the other gender gets. Physically and emotionally I am a woman, but dreamt or desired to be a man for its benefits. Some might ask what benefit? Well, let me give example from my current situation. I am a mom. Like, I am a mom, 24/7. There is no pause in this role. Since the day I came to know I am pregnant, which is around three years (counting the time I was pregnant) I have been a mom. This statement might be confusing for a lot of people. What does it mean by 'I have been a mom'?  To clarify, since the day I found out I was pregnant, I have been a mom. Not a person with a job, not a soul with desires, not anyone else but a mom. But, my husband, has been able to be what he choose to be. An employee, a son, a husband, a party goer, a sleepy head and much more. He got to choose and still does to be what he ...

It's not just anxiety anymore!

A very random conversation between S and D. S:  He asked me to buy Smile . I was like the ‘emoji’? And he was like ‘arey.. woh mouth ulcer ka cream.’ D: You don’t remember Smile ? S: No. Why would I remember it? D: Couple of years back he suggested that for my mouth ulcer. And we even got it twice or thrice after that. S: Oh! I don’t recollect at all. You used to get mouth ulcer huh? D: Yeah. Since I was a kid, I used to get it whenever I was anxious and worried about something. Like for exams or when the results came! S: You no longer get anxious is it? Coz I don’t remember getting it recently… D: Nah… after the kid I am always anxious, worried, paranoid, and sleep deprived. So I guess my body realized that it is the constant state and doesn’t bother me with mouth ulcer anymore! 'O_o'

Sleep and Let Sleep

It was second week in a row. Abhi was going through a new developmental milestone – walking. Though this was super exciting for Meera, she was not able to enjoy it completely since new milestone leads to behavioral regression, which in Abhi’s case was always sleep regression. Abhi has not slept through the night for two weeks now and Meera is almost on the verge of her meltdown. Whenever this has happened before, Meera would sleep through the day while the babysitter took care of Abhi. Now that she has resumed work, she is losing her sleep and her mind. Last night, Abhi went to sleep around midnight and woke up several times during the night. Meera tried feeding, rocking, and singing to her 15-month-old but gave up when he refused to shut his eye when the clock struck six in the morning. Meera was exhausted. Her aching back and sore breasts only worsened her condition. She tried to entertain Abhi on the bed so that she could at least rest her back. But he refused to settle there an...

When I was Pregnant!

I have a kid. One kid. Underlining the word ONE with words, because I was someone who wanted three kids. But after having one kid, who am I kidding?  He is a cute little boy who is a little older than one year. I love him to bits, for about 30 to 45 mins everyday. Even more when he sleeps. So on an average I love him around 35-40% percent on a daily basis.  I came to know of his existence in September 2019. By the time I realized I was pregnant, he was 8 weeks old. So in the first scan itself, we (me and the husband) could hear his heartbeat. I am not going to say that it was the best thing I have ever heard using my ears. However, it did kindle a weird emotion in me, which I had never felt before. More importantly, when we heard he was 8 weeks, I slowly rewinded the 8 weeks and tried to remember what all we did. We did two trips during that time and did all possible stuff which a pregnant woman shouldn't have done. I was relieved and happy that he survived all that and m...

What I do for a living?

Surprise, surprise... Blogger has finally become multiple device friendly and I am loving it! Being in an industry where my job is to ensure that our end customers get hooked to what they see on screen and take away something useful and informative, this change seems to meet all the requirements! That was me trying not to reveal my job.  Since the intention of this post is to talk about my job, I do want to reveal what I do for a living. I am an Instructional Designer (ID), working for one of the top MNCs in India. Sounds fancy huh! It's been 10 long years since I started as an ID and it looks like I am going to continue in this field, at least till my retirement. So what do I do as an ID? I design eLearning courses in a manner that it can be easily consumed by the learners. Basically it is the stuff that you see in ads such a Byjus and Udemy, where we promise that we deliver courses which are so interesting that you can't stop with just one.  How did I enter this industry? It...

Five Long Years

It has been a million years since I visited my blog and a million more since I last touched my laptop. Yes, you heard it right! For someone who works in an IT company, being away from the computer/laptop is just impossible. It became possible as the 'little bundle of joy' entered my life. Well it's been only eight months (can add ten more if we consider the time that he rented my uterus) since he happened, so the 'million years' might sound like an exaggeration. But trust me it's not. Anyways, I have been thinking of writing something for a while now before I forget words and remember only sounds like gaga and gugu. Though I honestly want to vent out about how difficult and tiring motherhood his, which I do to every single soul that I see, I just realized something - I completed five years at my company! It is a HUGE achievement for me from a professional front since the longest I have ever stayed in an organization was 18 months! Not my fault. I hav...
