Boy Meeting Girl - BMG 3

Here I am, staring at myself. Trying to understand what and how did it happen?

It's been three months since my first meet with Keshav. And yet I still feel like it was yesterday.

When he asked whether I have had boyfriends, I was not really shocked. Because a good friend of mine once said that men have gone to the extent of asking their probable brides whether they are virgin or not. My only 'shock' criteria was that he asked it too soon. And I wasn't prepared.

The thing is, I 'was' in a relationship once. It was a short lived but an intimate one. However, the 'The V Factor' was intact!

But the question was, can I tell him the truth? I wasn't sure.

First I thought, is it OK to tell him? He is well educated, broad-minded, and by his looks I was pretty sure that he could have been in 'a' or 'several' relationships in past. So if I shared my story, he might just pass it off as an everyday affair.

Then I thought, what could possibly go wrong? Once, another good friend of mine said that, men might look like they are cool about relationships, but, they are cool only about the relationships they had! When it comes to marriage, most men want fresh meat (yes! she meant women). This is because, they don't want their ego to be hurt thinking, 'whether the previous guy was better than me!' So, if Keshav belonged to this criteria of men, the maximum thing that could happen is, he would walk out, call his mom, and say no to me! Anyway I was not expecting him to say yes! So a 'no' with the truth known sounded better to me!

As I was drowned in my own thoughts on deciding whether to tell him or not, I forgot to realize I haven't replied to him yet and have been terribly silent for more than 15 minutes. When I cleared my thoughts, I saw Keshav staring at me.

'Are you OK?' he asked hesitantly.

'yes, yes... sorry I was lost in thoughts!' I said.

'so you have been in a relationship before... right?' he smiled.

'How did you know?' unfortunately, this came out too soon, with a squeak in my voice, which made him chuckle. He looked so cute, I thought.

'Coz, you started reminiscing when I asked... Women usually do that!'

Women? So he has lots of women friends, again to myself, coz only then you will be able to generalize something like this.

'Hmmmm... yes.. I was with a guy, I mean in a relationship once. But it didn't last long. We realized that we  were not compatible to each other and so we parted!' I couldn't have blabbered more!

He was slowly munching his sandwich while I gibbered. I expected him to say something, but all he did was nod.

'How about you?' I asked.

'Nah... I was not fortunate to find someone and fall in love. I guess I repel women. No one has expressed interest in me, neither have I. So if we get married, you might be the first girl with whom I might fall in love'

Shit! I thought. He has never been in a relationship? How could that be possible? And repelling women... yeah right! Probably due to his good looks, women might have been shy to come near him! More than these thought, I got particularly hung on his 'if' and 'might' phrases.

'You are kidding right? I asked.

'Ha hah... yes.. sort of.. I mean there was a girl in my life. We wanted to get married. My mom gave her approval. But her parents didn't. We thought we'll wait till we get the approval. But things changed and it didn't work out. So here I am, trying to find a girl to marry and fall in love again!'

The last sentence made me gape! But I tried my best not to show it on my face.

'hmmmm...' and I sipped my tea.

And then we spoke. We spoke for hours. He ordered another sandwich and a tea, and I finally gave in and ordered my dark passion! We spoke about several things. From his work, family, friends, his passion and even what he want to do in the next five years. He made feel so comfortable, that I let down my guard and started being the silly me. Cracking jokes, taking bulbs, and at the end of two hours, he came to know enough information to write my biography.

Finally I checked my watch and realized that I crossed my curfew.

He also checked his watch and said, 'Ouch.. Time just flew off... I guess your dad must be worried.'

Saying this he paid the bill and started to move. We came out in total silence. He turned to me and said, 'Nice talking to you Dhikshitha... Erm.. I'll talk to my mom and let you know!'

'okay... take care' I said and started walking towards the bus stop.

So that was it, I thought. We spoke, he paid the bill, and tomorrow my dad might probably get a call from his mom saying, sorry we are not interested. I was pretty sure of getting this response from them. Because I was totally me in there! I mean, I had my legs folded on the chair, munching on dark passion, and talking about all the silly things. I was not conscious about the way I smiled or the amount I ate. Also, if he was even a little bit interested, he would have at least offered me a lift till the bus stop. But he didn't. So that's it.

However, I was not upset. From the day I saw his profile, I was certain that he is coming to meet me believing, that the photoshoped me will be the real me! Unfortunately there is no photoshop for real life. This has happened to me before, and one more 'no' is not going to make me feel sad. So I was prepared.

But no. I was wrong. 'We' came a long way after the first meet. And here I am, decked up as a bride and ready to be called Mrs. Keshav in less than an hour! :)

Five Long Years

It has been a million years since I visited my blog and a million more since I last touched my laptop. Yes, you heard it right! For someone who works in an IT company, being away from the computer/laptop is just impossible. It became possible as the 'little bundle of joy' entered my life. Well it's been only eight months (can add ten more if we consider the time that he rented my uterus) since he happened, so the 'million years' might sound like an exaggeration. But trust me it's not. Anyways, I have been thinking of writing something for a while now before I forget words and remember only sounds like gaga and gugu. Though I honestly want to vent out about how difficult and tiring motherhood his, which I do to every single soul that I see, I just realized something - I completed five years at my company! It is a HUGE achievement for me from a professional front since the longest I have ever stayed in an organization was 18 months! Not my fault. I hav...

I wish I was a MAN/DAD!

I have always wanted to be a boy/man. I mean, it's a thought or desire that I have always had since my teen to be born in a different gender because of all the benefits the other gender gets. Physically and emotionally I am a woman, but dreamt or desired to be a man for its benefits. Some might ask what benefit? Well, let me give example from my current situation. I am a mom. Like, I am a mom, 24/7. There is no pause in this role. Since the day I came to know I am pregnant, which is around three years (counting the time I was pregnant) I have been a mom. This statement might be confusing for a lot of people. What does it mean by 'I have been a mom'?  To clarify, since the day I found out I was pregnant, I have been a mom. Not a person with a job, not a soul with desires, not anyone else but a mom. But, my husband, has been able to be what he choose to be. An employee, a son, a husband, a party goer, a sleepy head and much more. He got to choose and still does to be what he ...

Sleep and Let Sleep

It was second week in a row. Abhi was going through a new developmental milestone – walking. Though this was super exciting for Meera, she was not able to enjoy it completely since new milestone leads to behavioral regression, which in Abhi’s case was always sleep regression. Abhi has not slept through the night for two weeks now and Meera is almost on the verge of her meltdown. Whenever this has happened before, Meera would sleep through the day while the babysitter took care of Abhi. Now that she has resumed work, she is losing her sleep and her mind. Last night, Abhi went to sleep around midnight and woke up several times during the night. Meera tried feeding, rocking, and singing to her 15-month-old but gave up when he refused to shut his eye when the clock struck six in the morning. Meera was exhausted. Her aching back and sore breasts only worsened her condition. She tried to entertain Abhi on the bed so that she could at least rest her back. But he refused to settle there an...
